“Obedience is the great test of life.”
Thomas S. Monson

I think what this quote means is that it isn’t always easy being obedient sometimes there is this urge to disobey someone even if you don’t mean to. For example I remember once my mom told me to pick up the empty water bottles around the house and put them in a plastic bag. At the time I was watching a show and I said I’ll do it right now. My mom comes to the living room 2 hours later and she still found water bottles all over the house. She comes in my room and she had a long talk with me. I didn’t mean to disobey her but sometimes it just happens. I learned to do what I am told when I am told.

“Obedience… is the primary object of all sound education.”
Elizabeth Missing Sewell

I’m not too sure about what the quote really means. Maybe it’s because I haven’t done it myself. But I do know the obedience is the key to a great and happy life. If you are obedient to your teachers and parents good things will come from it. Being obedient in school is important because that is where you are most of the time and you learn how to be a better student and it gives you a head start in life. If you are obedient to your teachers by doing your assignments and homework it’s just like a job when your manager or boss tells you to do something you do it. Little things like this is what we should learn at a young age.

“Obedience sums up our entire duty.”
Hosea Ballou

I think this is true because if we are obedient we are able to listen to what other people have to say whether it’s your parents, adults, boss, etc. we need to be obedient in order to become good people. I know that sometimes here and there I’m not obedient but each step of the way I’m trying to be more and more obedient to adults, teachers, and especially my mom.

“The more obedient we are the more freedom we have.”
Boyd K. Packer

When I read this quote the first thing that came into mind was jail. The reason why is because if you are disobedient and don’t follow the laws you can go to jail. For example if you use illegal drugs you can end up in jail. So when I thought of being obedient and how it gives you freedom I thought about how if you obey the law do good you are free, free from jail and you get to live your life happily with friends and family. Not obeying the law will just get you in trouble or in jail and you are no longer able to live a happy life with your friends and family, you are just stuck in a cell with people who you don’t know. So that’s why it’s just best to be obedient.
Obedience

Obedience is when you are doing good deeds. Listening to your parents, teachers, adults, etc. An example of being obedient is when your parents tell you to do the chores you are supposed to do and not fighting back that you don’t want to and it’s not fair. Another way of being obedient is when your teacher tells you that you have to do an assignment instead of nagging that you don’t want to its best if you just do it. Some synonyms of obedience is duty, conformity, submission, and deference.

“Early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise”
Benjamin Franklin

I need to start sleeping early. I have a bad habit of falling asleep late at night and sometimes rushing to school so that I can be on time. Getting to bed early is what I should do because I need rest especially if you work out and early bed is needed.  If you go to bed early you wake up in time and don’t have to be rushing or being late so that makes you wealthy regardless if it’s school or a job. And going to bed early is wise because the next morning you will wake up with energy and not wake up in a bad mood. Sleeping early is important and it’s something I should start getting the habit of doing.

“A wise man ought to realize that health is his most valuable possession.”

Hippocrates
I agree with this quote because if we live an unhealthy life we start to limit our lifespan for example let’s say we eat nothing but junk food every single day and don’t exercise or try to start eating better it can damage our body like clog the arteries or it might give you diabetes and it can even cause a heart attack. By eating healthy, staying fit, and exercising we can live longer and we can do things like travel, learn new things, build up a career and a family, and watch your grandchildren grow. This is why we should stay healthy.

Courage

Courage is when you are afraid of something but still chose to face it. It’s like being brave. If you see someone getting bullied and you know the person who is being the bully the courage to stand up to him is hard but if you do it you are brave because even though you know him and talk to him he can end up trying to hurt you because you stopped it but sometimes courage is standing up to your own friends even if they don’t agree with you. That’s something brave that other people won’t do because they don’t want to be a “bad” friend.
“Act well your part; there all honor lies.”
Alexander Pope

I’m not entirely sure what this quote means but I know that if you are good, then good things will come to you. For example let’s say you seen an elderly woman or man carrying some heavy bags, you should help them because you would want someone to do it to your mom or dad, or even grandparents. They would be so grateful and you would have made their day if you did that act of kindness.
Orthodontist

“I would prefer even to fail with honor than win by cheating.”
Sophocles

If you win by cheating and receive the “honor” you really didn't earn it you won’t feel the same honor as you could have if you won the fair way. Take sports for example if you cheat or you know you did something that was against the rules and end up winning your team won’t receive the same honor it could have if you or your teammates have not cheated. If you play fair and you didn't cheat and followed all your rules your team will receive the correct honor it deserves. I agree with this quote it’s better to fail with honor than to win by cheating.
