I guess what this means is that if you do what is right, the right way, at the right time good will come out of it. I think an example of that will be being good in class, paying attention to the teacher and the lesson he has for prepared for us. If you do that than good will pay off from that like getting a good grade and succeeding in class. It also means you pass the class which is a step towards graduation and that is success.
